The „Musée urbain“ (urban museum) transforms the town of Kinshasa into a museum. It’s a response to the missing infrastructure in Kinshasas art sector. Because the existing art centers are considered as high class institutions, mostly run by europeans, a lot of local artists and the biggest part of the local population don’t have access to the contemporary art scene. The urban museum brings art to all social classes in different parts of the town and connects artists, locals and international visitors.
